State of the Farm

We learned that freezing temperatures are over for this year on March 22nd, and we’re happy to bid them adieu. How’s that? All of our oldest pecan trees budded that day. An experienced pecan, unlike the peach or pear tree, or even the young pecan, never buds until its primal instincts tell it that it is no longer in harm’s way. The old guys know, even though temperatures fell into the mid-30's and sort of challenged their collective knowledge about these things.
